Welcome one and all to the World Martial Arts Tournament! Held periodically, hosted on Papaya Island, where the grand tournament arena is built, this tournament, when declared, will be the one and only place to crown one person and one person only the Strongest Fighter In The World! Please remember that the spectator entrance and the fighter registration entrance are two totally separate things. You DO NOT want to mix that up, TRUST ME! We had a hell of a mess to clean up last time!

This year, the World Martial Arts Tournament is being sponsored by the Guild Competition Committee. Welcome to all challenging members from Middle Earth's many guilds!

The Guild Competition Committee Sponsored Prizes

In addition to the tournament declaring one person the strongest in the world, The  Guild Competition Committee is sponsoring 4 other prizes to its participants. They are as follows:

-1 point will be awarded to ONE person who comes up with the most unique best character-esque costume description/ or photoshop (if you prefer) and fighter nickname combo. Available to only 1 winner.

-1 point will be awarded to EVERY person who comes up with an entertaining and funny entrance intro for their character, AND PERFORMS IT at the WoW night. I don't know even what that means! "WoW Night". Silly Guilds! Like that's a thing! I've never heard of it!

-1 point will be awarded to EVERY person who actually comes to WoW night dressed as their unique costume that they came up with for their character.

-1 final point will be awarded to the ONE winner of the fighting competition itself.
Available to only 1 winner.

There will be a grand prize item given to the winner of the Guild Competition, and in addition, a prize item given to every member part of the same guild as the winner. This will be noted on your character sheets, may affect future game play for those players. ....Character sheet??? That sounds like something insane people say!!!!!

150 Experience will be awarded to the winners of each prize in addition to the guild points. For 3 of the prizes, this will occur BEFORE the actual fighting, so, seeing rule 5 and 5.5 below in the tournament rules, you will be able to use that experience in the stores or to level..... WTF!

The World Martial Arts Tournament Prize Per Winning Each Round

There will be a prize for winning each fight and advancing to the next round. It will be awarded according to the DM, whoever that guy is.

The World Martial Arts Tournament Grand Prize

The winner of the World Martial Arts Tournament will receive the title of Worlds Strongest Person which will be added to your character sheets and may have benefits to you in future quests.... I don't know what that means! What is a character sheet! What is a quest! Anyways, they will also receive the grand prize cash winnings of $200,000 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!$$$$$$$$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!$$$$$$$$$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Rules

1. ALL WEAPONS AND ARMOR AND ITEMS AND CREATURES AND SUMMONS ALLOWED! - Uhhhh, we used to have a rule against this, but then we started getting fighters that had weapons and armor built into their bodies, and it got really hard to tell other less freakish fighters that that was fair. Then the less freakish fighters started dousing their bodies in mutagen, there were the lawsuits for all those deaths..... This is just easier, and fairer, and less litigious.

1.5. MAGIC MEDALLION TRANSFORMATIONS AND ZORD USAGE WILL BE RESTRICTED BY THE DM. ... What's a DM? .... What's a Zord?

2. ANY ITEMS THAT GRANT LONG LASTING CHANGES (ie: Rose Dust) WILL EXPIRE IMMEDIATELY AFTER EACH ROUND IN THE TOURNAMENT IT IS USED ENDS. ALSO ANY TRANSFORMATIONS THAT ARE NORMALLY LONG TERM WILL REVERT BACK TO THE UNTRANSFORMED STATE AFTER EACH ROUND TOO. ANY STATUS CHANGES (ie: poison, on fire, ghonoherpesyphilaids) WILL BE TREATED AND HEALED AFTER EACH ROUND.  This ensures no handicaps or advantages for other fighters in the following rounds.

****THIS IS IN EXCEPTION TO THE FEAR AND STRESS STAT. THOSE HANDICAPS REMAIN, OR MAY INCREASE OR DECREASE.

3. HEALTH  AND MAGIC/KI WILL BE RESTORED TO FULL IF YOU ADVANCE TO THE NEXT ROUND.  Like, uh, you can rest between each round and watch the other fighters or eat or whatever.

4. SUDDEN DEATH RULES. If you lose, you are out of the tournament. Pack up and go home or sit in the audience and watch. NO INTERFERENCE, AND NO TRANSFERRING ITEMS TO OTHER FIGHTERS. Buy some merch on the way out!!!!

5. THE STORE CLOSES BEFORE THE TOURNAMENT BEGINS, Well, at least for competitors. Also no transferring/selling items between players once the tournament begins. Why? It makes you be more strategic over the long term. And the audience loves that shit!

5.5 NO LEVELING ONCE THE TOURNAMENT BEGINS. I've been told that means you need to level up, if you want, only prior to the tournament.  I.... don't get it. I don't know what that means. I think I am going to go home and take a bath. People don't have levels. That's crazy!

6. DESTROYED EQUIPMENT STAYS DESTROYED. These fights are likely to be no holds barred. If your equipment or weapons are destroyed in the ring, you don't get them back. We don't have a tailor or a blacksmith. Sorry!

7. THE QUALIFYING ROUNDS: YOUR FIRST OPPONENT WILL BE A NON PLAYER CHARACTER CHOSEN SPECIFICALLY FOR YOU BY THE DM. THE DM WILL NOT HOLD ANY PUNCHES. ALL NON PLAYER CHARACTER FIGHTERS WILL HAVE A CHARACTER SHEET, EACH OPPONENT WILL BE SCALED TO THE PLAYER THEY FIGHT. ALL FIGHTS FAIR.  I.... you know what is someone pulling my leg with all these technical terms? I'm moving on to 7.5 at least that rule makes sense.

7.5. QUARTER FINAL AND SEMI FINAL ROUNDS: SPEEDY PLAYERS PICK THEIR OPPONENTS. After the qualifying rounds,  the fastest (Based on your turn order) fighters will line up and draw a name from a hat and the name they draw will be their opponent in the quarterfinal rounds.  This will continue until each fighter has an opponent.

Non player characters will be included in the turn order roll.

8. BATTLE RULES: In the spirit of fairness and not slaughtering the audience, fights occur in the arena. We don't have a projection device, and I don't feel like streaming a camera. That means all opponents will be required to approach the designated rolling table to roll their dice against one another/do battle in front of one another when they are announced to the arena. The DM will be present.

Fights occur as a normal battle would. All fights are 1 on 1.

Extra damage or physical displacement may be rolled by the DM based on the creativity of role playing.

There are two ways to win. First is to knock the opponent out for the count of 10 (knock them down to 1 health - death is not allowed, which also prevents the use of resurrecting items like horcrux's or the grail, etc)  The second way to win is to knock the opponent out of the ring. Their feet must touch the ground. This, again, depends entirely on strategy, hit or dodge successes, and roleplaying creativity and the DM will make those calls based on extra rolls he will ask for that are "event triggered", and a set dimension of the arena that will be known by the day of the tournament.

PS: Flying IS a valid strategic option for those with items or skills to do so.

9. Bets are allowed. That's up to you. The DM may or may not take bets too. You'll have to roll to see.

I quit. I quit. Dungeon Master, Non Player Characters, Rolling Dice, Experience Points, rolling tables, roleplaying creativity.... These words make no sense to me at all and I suddenly feel like a "Non Player Character" in some sick ass game and I need a vacation. Good day to you fighters. Enjoy the tournament. Talk to the short tiny dick bald guy if you have any further questions.
